Excerpt from October Newsletter
Hello Everyone!
It has been slightly over a month since I arrived to CSBS here in Baja California, Mexico. In these few weeks we have read Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers. We have charted, broke down, reviewed historical context, religious practices of the Ancient Near East, and learned so much about the Word of God, what certain laws really meant, and how amazing God's love is! For every book we are also required to write a personal application explaining what we have learned and how we intend to apply that knowledge to our own lives. More than that, we are also learning how to apply it to every sphere of society.
I know we all make mistakes. I do every day. Every Word in the Bible is alive and convicts my heart about my sins. But it also helps me to see the good work He is doing in my life and my heart. I know that if He can forgive me for my sins and use me for His kingdom, He will also forgive you (if you ask) and reflect His glory through your own life!
One amazing thing that has touched my heart is a miracle I feel the Lord has allowed this base to be a part of. I'm sure everyone knows about Hurricane Patricia hitting Southern Mexico last Thursday. Every Thursday morning the base has a community meeting. One of our DTS students felt led to ask the base to pray for the people of Mexico who would be hit by the Hurricane. So, that morning this young, 19 yr old girl, led an entire assembly in prayer for the protection of the Mexican people -whom she did not even know.
According to the LA Times, Hurricane Patricia is recorded to be "the strongest hurricane ever measured in the Western Hemisphere." The damage was catastrophic, crops were destroyed, hospitals damaged... but not one life lost!

I believe that this is a result of prayer. Christ promises us in Matthew 18:19-20
"Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst."
I'm sure we were not the only ones who prayed, but I do know that many of God's children came together to pray protection and mercy for the people of Sourthern Mexico, and God heard from Heaven and answered that prayer.
I want to encourage all those who read this newsletter to remember the promises the Lord has made to His children. We are all under a Covenant of Love through God's mercy and grace. Christ's own blood was poured out for our sins so that we might receive Him and have everlasting life with Him. And He empowered His children to do miracles in His Name. He hears His children when we come before (with a right heart) in prayer and intercession. He delights when we think of others and minister to them in love and prayers.
I pray for you guys privately, but this time I feel like the Lord wants you all to be a part of it.
"Lord Jesus,
Thank You so much for those who are out there supporting me through their encouragement and prayers and offerings. Thank you for their hearts. I know that many of them are going through trials and tragedies in their own lives. Many are sick, physically and spiritually wounded, and others are suffering in their hearts with discouragement and/or depression. Yet they still give of themselves to others unconditionally.
Lord, I know that You are Love. I know that You Alone have the power to heal both the physical being and the spiritual; the heart and the mind. I want to lift up to you all those who receive this newsletter to receive Your blessing on their lives. To assure them You are present in their struggles and sickness'. To heal their bodies and encourage their hearts. I pray for people to come into their lives to minister unto them as You have ministered unto us.
We all thank You and receive Your promises.
In Jesus' precious Name. -Amen"
My heart is with you as I know yours is with me! And whatever you're going through right now, be encouraged that Christ is right there with you. And if God can deliver a multitude of people (believers and unbelievers alike) from a catastrophic hurricane, how much more will He deliver you from your strife if you turn to Him? Deliverance always begins with true faith... and a bended knee.
God Bless You All!
