A Little Overdue...

It feels good to send out a blog with a little bit more action going on this time! Yay! Well, I have officially relocated to Las Vegas, NV for the summer. It is most likely that I will stay here until I leave for Mexico this September for my School of Biblical Studies (SBS). I will be spending the summer and working with a wonderful church called Grace Baptist Church here in Vegas. They are very community focused, and I am excited to be here with them!

(And I think they plan on putting me to work too!)

My first week here I have had the privilege of getting to help out with their annual Eggtravaganza event for Easter this past Saturday. It was a very delightful event where they hosted egg hunts, various games, prizes, popcorn, snow cones, and other vendors set up booths such as a food pantry, the McGruff Crime Dog was there to talk about safety, a booth for the church was set up with information, and a variety of others!

What did I get to do?

I got to help monitor the bounce houses! And it was such a blast! Truly, a bounce house has to be the easiest way to entertain a kid! All I have to do is make sure they get a fair turn and don't jump on each other! Other than that I get to just sit back and enjoy the laughter chores of children playing!

Seriously. Is there really a more beautiful sound?

Our Easter Sunday morning service was also spent out in the park along with four baptisms! And some of the residents who lived nearby the park stopped by for the service too! It was such a joy to start off my first week in Vegas this way! As my father and brother also live here I will get to spend a lot more time with them both. Living in Texas has put a lot of distance between our knowing one other very well. I look forward to our time together! I have already had some very good laughs! And I have discovered that my stepmother is an excellent cook and desert maker! I'm not sure if my summer plans to lose a few pounds is going to happen!
I expect these next few months to be full of surprises! I am already loving the people I have met and worked with from Grace Baptist. I do miss my own church family of Southside Baptist in Tyler, TX very much, but I am glad that the Lord has given me this opportunity to both grow in my relationships with my dad and brother as well as serve Him in a community focused church! He has also been fulfilling my heart with the stories and testimonies of my friends I made in England and Brazil during my Discipleship Training School last year. I have made special lifelong friendships and added to my spiritual family.

I think the most beautiful part of going into full-time missions is that I am developing friends/family all over the world! It is a comforting thought that no matter where I go in the world the Lord surrounds me with people who love and care for me. And in return, He opens my heart to pass on that same love and care to others. It is a wonderful thing to go throughout the world seeking God and how to love others as He does. I really don't believe anything else could ever fill our hearts in the way His unconditional love does ...Other than to pass on that same love to others!
Thank you so much for your love and prayers! The Lord uses you in ways you do not know!
