FINALLY!
I am back at the London Heathrow Airport, at the Gate, waiting for my flight departure. No more confusion. I'm going home to Texas today!
I actually got to the airport in Madrid way too early this morning. But I wasn't taking any chances! And I still have an hour before my next flight. But I'm not moving from this gate! (At least not further than the coffee shop across from it!)
But I was blessed in the Madrid airport this morning too! A Spanish man asked if I was English and if I new if '0' was the first number when calling England locally. I was able to help him with that, and then we continued on a fun conversation. Found out he has been married 10yrs with two beautiful children, a boy 7, and a girl 2. He's going to be working in England for a month. He was sad to leave his family. ;(
But he is also trying to learn to speak English better, so I tried to help him work out some words and sentences. After about 30min I offered my email address to help him practice because outside of when he's in England, he has no one to speak English too. So, I made a new friend!
Then (right behind me), while boarding had started, some poor girl got sick and vomited right next to her seat. She was mortified, but you can't really help it when that happens. So, I stayed with her until the line was almost finished. Fortunately, she was feeling much better in time to board. I felt so sorry for her. She was just a young teen and so embarrassed. I don't think she was sick. I think it was just something that upset her stomach. (And no. She was not returning from Africa. So, please do panic. Of course, I probably would have still stayed with her anyways.)
But she had heard me and the other guy talking when he asked me what I was doing in England. She wasn't familiar with what a 'missionary' was. There wasn't really enough time to answer all her questions, but I think she got the jest of it. She was interested in the YWAM website. Perhaps she might check it out!
....So, now I will be going home. And what seemed like such a major disaster yesterday has turned out rather nicely today. I have come across several wonderful people because of the missed flight. And God may have even used me to plant some seeds.
All in all, I have no regrets. I'm glad I missed that connection flight yesterday, and I praise God for how He provided for me and opened so many doors for testimony. I do not deserve such a blessing.
But I'll take it!
